The deputy director of Procurement and Contracting at EMALSA, Víctor Martín-Macho, explains that in 2019, 60% of purchases and 85% of contracts for amounts greater than 1,000 euros were awarded to local companies. Go to download The key in purchasing management for EMALSA is the quality of the product purchased since its durability must be guaranteed for efficient management of services. So that the purchasing management itself is also efficient, the company has a Technical Office, Supply and Contracting Department, which centralizes the acquisitions of the different areas of activity, applying public administration criteria that guarantee competition. The deputy director of this department, Víctor Martín-Macho, explained that acquisitions are valued fundamentally from their technical perspective, without forgetting price competition, also taking advantage of the advantages that come with belonging to a large international group. But in addition, the policy is to generate economic synergies in the local area in which it carries out its activity. In fact, in 2019, EMALSA placed 392 orders worth more than 1,000 euros, of which 60% (2,200,000 euros) were purchased from local suppliers.

Regarding contracts for an amount greater than 1,000 euros, 85% (15 million euros) were awarded to local companies.
